Canal Plaza

 

The flagship of the wetlands precinct, Canal Plaza is to be a 12 storey office tower of 7 000m2 at the confluence of canals and surrounded by a 3 000m2 garden on natural ground enabling a grove of 5m palms, water features and recreational/gathering spaces. The Plaza is the office response to Century City’s new urbanist ideals. Canal Plaza’s parking garage and loft component are cut into Century Boulevard’s bank and complement Boulevard Place in scale and movement.

    The Island Club

    The Island Club comprises of 445 apartments, a boutique hotel and 12 shop-studios. The evolution of the Island Club design was an intense experience for the multi disciplinary team involved.

    Awarded The Island Club at Century City the TOP AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN DEVELOPMENT FOR A RESIDENTIAL PROJECT IN S.A FOR 2005.

    The challenge included:

    • Responding to the striking architecture of Canal Walk Shopping Centre and in particular its northern face to Half Moon Bay.
    • Using engineered waterways, buildings and landscaping to create a ‘sense of place’.
    • Producing a promenade along the Grand Canal that stimulates a cosmopolitan lifestyle reflecting the new urbanist dream that is Century City.
    • Ensuring that virtually all apartments have water frontage.
    • Creating a secure and luxuriously landscaped environment with running tracks, play parks, indoor heated and outdoor pools.
    • Producing buildings with movement and changing roofscapes so as to respond to the waterways and achieve visual interest and a human scale.
    • Producing well-designed apartments of good internal proportions with views.
    • Enabling a lifestyle of convenience where buildings and spaces are interconnected and user-friendly.

    Airport Park

    Airport Park is situated at the International Airport Terminal precinct  in Perth, Australia. The development comprises of 3 office/warehouse buildings surrounding an internal, open air parking area. The total lettable area amounts to 7 600 m2, made up of 4 169 m2 office space and 3 440 m2 warehouse space. Due to the park’s location, within the airport industrial precinct, high standards of design, construction and environmental performance had to be adhered to and, therefore, responds well to the neighbouring developments that house some of the largest retail brands in Western Australia.

    Airport Park is the first development undertaken by Harries Projects in Australia, and is proving to be a great success.
